More Long Exposure

The shot above was taken the day after a powerful storm hit New England; hundreds of thousands lost power, woke to find downed trees, and flooded yards.

The winds were close to hurricane level, the rain was torrential. The waves on this morning were crashing over and above the sea wall in Kennebunk in the early hours, which made me want to head to the water to get some shots.

It was only after I’d left work due to our own power outage that I was able to get near the water; Dan and I stood on the cliffs and watched the waves come in with such energy; it was simultaneously scary and exciting to see these walls of water looming and crashing, only to send spray up a good 20 feet above our heads.
