My friend Laurie and I went to the air show at the Portland Jetport; our office building overlooks the airport, so we got to see a few of the planes (including a fighter jet!) coming and going during the day on Friday. Yesterday turned out great weather-wise, admission and parking were free, and it was fun to snap shots and tour the planes. The largest there was a refueling plane – the size of the plane from our vantage point at work didn’t seem all that big, but I couldn’t fit the entire plane into a frame when shooting with a 50mm lens!
There were classic trucks, a Ford Thunderbird (pictured above), biplane and helicopter rides, and a plane pulling contest.
For local and free, it was a good way to spend a couple hours outside.
